Richmond Community Foundation opens 2023 grant applications

The Richmond Community Foundation is accepting applications for its 2023 granting cycle.
Registered charities that operate in or serve the Richmond community are eligible to apply. Like last year, there are two funding streams: one designed to foster collaboration within the local non-profit sector, and another aimed at amplifying the impact of community projects.
Exploring Collaboration Grants can help with initiatives that are still in the planning stages, and can help people find partners who share their vision to help bring initiatives to life. These grants, available for up to $2,500, can be used for workshops, meeting space, facilitators, and other tools and resources that might assist in developing a collaborative initiative.
People whose projects are ready to move from the planning stages to the real world can apply for the Community Grant, which provides up to $10,000 so organizations can carry out projects with a broad community impact. Initiatives can still benefit specific audiences: children and youth, older adults, newcomers, people with disabilities, or other groups. They can also relate to any number of areas, from arts and culture, to food security, to social services.
People can request funding for a new program or to expand an existing program. Grants can also be used for a capital expenditure that will enhance service delivery.
For both funding streams, a Letter of Intent template is available online. The final day to submit a letter is Oct. 14.
If, after reviewing your submission, the grants committee wants more information on your project, you'll be invited to prepare a full application. If approved, you'll receive funding early in the new year.
